The 2016 Chess.com Isle of Man International Masters commences tomorrow with 135 players entered from 34 countries, including 48 GMs. The event is sponsored by Chess.com and the Scheinberg family, with assistance from Isle of Man Department of Economic Development, ServiceTech and BlueWave Communications.
I would like to remind all players of the following extract from our Terms & Conditions:
Registration and first round pairings
All players in the Masters tournament should register by 8.00pm, Friday 30 September at the Villa Marina. If unable to do so in person, they must contact the Tournament Director (Alan Ormsby: mobile 07624 453200 or email: This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.) to either confirm their arrival on the island or to confirm their travel plans.
Pairings for the first round will be issued no later than 10.00am, Saturday 1 October. Players who have yet to reach the island, or have failed to make contact with the Tournament Director, may be provisionally paired against each other. Provisional pairings may be subject to late change at the discretion of the arbiter.

The Masters gets underway at 1.30pm on Saturday 1 October. I invite all players to take their seats by 1.20pm so that our Chief Arbiter, David Welch, can make the necessary introductory announcements.
I wish all players and officials a safe journey to the island.
